Christian Smit

Christian takes pride in delivering excellent legal services to both private and public entity clients in land use and real estate, environmental, and water law matters.
Christian received his J.D. from UC Davis School of Law, where he received the Environmental Law Certificate. During law school, Christian cultivated litigation and administrative law skills through positions with the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Natural Resources Division, and the California State Water Resources Control Board. Prior to joining Pioneer Law Group, Christian was an attorney at another law firm in Sacramento, where he specialized in natural resources litigation and facilitated numerous transactional matters.
Christian uses his analytical and litigation skills to protect clients’ property interests, water supplies, and other resources in matters involving state and federal environmental laws such as CEQA, NEPA, the Endangered Species Act, and water quality statutes. Outside of work, Christian enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and playing instruments.
